Survey says . . .

Hey my fellow pastors and pastors in training. I am looking to conduct an informal poll. Please take a moment to let me know what you think to this question:

Is it a good idea to make your first sermon in your new call be your testimony to God's goodness and power in your life?

I would agree with Kim.

I would hope that many in the church have already heard about God's mercy and power in your life when you were interviewed. I would attest that is why they called you in the first place. And if they called you for other circumstances, all the more reason to preach the Gospel and God's grace for THEM.

In my experience, the personal testimony is much more powerful and effective in the small group situations and one-on-one. That's when I try and show that I am human. In the pulpit, I only want to show them Christ.

Let us know how it goes, and we'll be praying for you!
