Dissapointment

Well, Kim, I guess your church didn't pray hard enough or something :)....Unionville chose someone else. At least they were nice about it. They said that they chose someone who had demonstrated ability as a youth leader and was an associate pastor for a few years.

Anyway, so I'm back at square one and I don't know what to do. Maybe I'm not meant for this after all. Thanks for your prayers, though, all of you. I'll see you around.

Dear John,

We share in your disappointment, but do not be discouraged! God has great plans for you and your family. We will continue praying for the right fit for your many gifts and talents!

Sorry John...know that stinks for you all. We're still praying that you find the right match...and we know that you will.

Coming from someone who has had a few challenges to his own participation in Christ's ministry, do not let this confuse your call. You are called by God to do great things for the kingdom ... as a pastor. You are a pastor.

I'll start cleaning out the empty rooms if you want. I probably should talk to the Trustees first, but I'm sure it won't be a problem. :)

Ditto to everything said already.

Hey John,
I'm feeling for you - I know it's hard right now. It's all confusing as to "Where God from here?" But I know your God and I know your God is faithful. And your God who brought you this far has plans to carry you even farther - in His time, never late, but never early. You can count on that. Stay faithful and trusting in the meantime. God didn't make a mistake when He called you - don't doubt Him now - not even by doubting yourself! :) I'm praying and trusting for you and your family. Love you, John!

Thanks everybody. I have to admit that I was feeling just a little bit down this morning. you know how it is; we really thought this was the right place for us.

Anyway, Matt, don't clean out your rooms just yet - we're okay to stay in the town house through June. If nothing comes up by then, I'll let ya know.

I have been thinking and praying about this turn of events, and I think that maybe God wants me to learn a lesson about community - and by that I mean that maybe He wants me to stay in the Mid-west for a while to keep closer to all y'all. (no, wait - that's the South...oh well) Keep in touch.

John and Jennifer,
I'm sure you're disappointed about the news. It's certainly their loss. and God's win ... now He can put you where He wants you to do. And the community thing is not so bad. I tried it toward the end of the year!
